TUITION SCHEDULE & PAYMENT POLICY

 

PRESCHOOL** (8:00 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.)                           $5,350.00

GRADES K-6                                                                   $6,200.00

GRADES 7-8                                                                   $7,550.00

GRADES 9-12***                                                             $8,000.00

International Student                                                  $10,500.00

 

 

*PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE:

 

(1)  One Payment Plan by July 1, 2011.  Tuition Refund Plan optional.

 

(2)  Two Payment Plan – ½ of tuition by July 1, 2011; ½ on November 1, 2011.         A fee for Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) is charged per student.  Cost is 3.6% of total tuition. TRP payments due with first installment.

 

(3)  Monthly Payment Plan – Payable in equal installments.  Payments start on June 1, 2011. A fee for Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) is charged per student.  Cost is 3.6% of total tuition. TRP payments due with first installment.  International Students – Ineligible for monthly payment plan

                                   

 

** EXTENDED DAY PRESCHOOL

Additional $1,050.00 per year. 

 

***Books for grades 9-12 not included in tuition rate.

 

New international students:  Additional $1,000 ESL fee is due upon registration.

All international students:   Additional $200 SEVIS fee due upon registration.

Grade 12 students: Additional $125 graduation fee

                 

 

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

 

·   What are the implications of 5% increase in tuition rates?

o  SJS is committed to keeping Catholic education affordable on the Big Island.

o  For most families this breaks down to under $30/month

o  Additional funding sources will be needed, e.g. (1) additional development and grant income.

 

·   Is the Tuition Refund Plan mandatory?

o Yes, for those choosing to pay in two installments or monthly installments. [Note: Rate has increased to 3.6% for the coming year.]

o  It is optional for families that pay in one installment (with the understanding that there will be no refund should the student have to withdraw from SJS for  any reason).

·   Is tuition assistance available?

o     Yes, applications are available in both the High School and Elementary School offices.  You can also find them on our website at: www.stjosephhilo.org      

o  Deadline for returning completed packets to the SJS business office:  by 12:00 noon on Friday, March 25, 2011.

 

Tuition Assistance Applications – Due 3/25/2011

 

Applications packets for tuition assistance through the Augustine Educational Foundation, Saint Joseph School, Saint Joseph Parish and the work study program are presently available at the business office. 

·     Any family who wishes to be considered for financial aid must complete an application form and submit it to the business office by March 25, 2011. 

·     Families receiving assistance this current year must reapply for next year.  

·     Families with multiple children in the school are required to complete only one packet. 

 

The Business Manager is available to assist any parent/guardian in completing the application form.   Jeri Spain can be reached at 935-8443.  Parents/guardians are  encouraged to fill out and submit their applications by March 18th in case there is missing information or documentation.
